Such is the planet-straddling status of Depeche Mode that it sometimes becomes a little too easy to forget that they were four fresh-faced lads looking to make their way out of the Essex post-war new town of Basildon.
Released in 1981, ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ was Depeche Mode’s third single and first top 10 hit.
Somewhat ironically, it was both the first and last to feature the group’s then songwriter Vince Clarke, who was to soon depart to form Yazoo with Alison Moyet.
But for all that, this is an effervescent video that crystalises a particular time and place in British pop history.
