The first track to be lifted from ELO’s eighth studio album, ‘Shine A Little Love’ is widely regarded as the start of the band’s disco period.
“A bit of a disco beat on this one,” agrees Jeff Lynne. “And quite a lot of things going on, forty piece string section and all. It’s very jolly and bouncy and I must have been in a very good mood when I wrote it!”
And though they don’t appear on the record, string players Mik Kaminski, Hugh McDowell and Melvyn Gale all feature in the video.
