With Foo Fighters having recently returned to their natural habitat at the Reading and Leeds festivals, let’s head back to the band’s earliest days to catch them as they emerged into the sunlight.
Directed by Devo’s Jerry Casale, the video for ‘I’ll Stick Around’ – the second single to be released from the band’s eponymous debut album – was shot for a modest $60,000, fulfilling Dave Grohl’s wish of a shooting a “non-video video”.
So it is that in between fending off a giant spore, Dave Grohl chews down on some chess pieces, which of course, isn’t recommended under any circumstances.
Finally, the video was given the singular honour of being featured on Beavis & Butthead.
