Formed in Coventry in 1984, new wave pop stars King built on the foundations of their hometown’s Two-Tone scene to create what they called ‘Multi-Tone’.
Watching the video to their debut single, ‘Love And Pride’, you can see why.
A total riot of colour and spectacle, here King harness all the possibilities offered by the emerging video format as spray-painted Doc Marten boots and outrageous mullets collide with pastel suits and body-poppin’ kids.
It really doesn’t get any more eighties than this!
