VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Meat Loaf – ‘I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)’

October 22, 2018

This week marks 25 years since Meat Loaf climbed to the top of the UK charts with this global smash hit, and the video is just as famous as the song.

A heady blend of ‘Beauty And The Beast’ and ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’, this epic promo was directed by none other than Michael flippin’ Bay.

Yes. Michael Bay. Who would go on to direct the high-concept blockbusters ‘Armageddon’, ‘Pearl Harbour’ and the ‘Transformers’ series.

The video took four days to film in sweltering heat and, in another mind boggling twist, was shot by cinematographer Daniel Peart, who is best known for his work on the cult 1973 horror movie, ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’.
