VIDEO OF THE WEEK: PAUL SIMON – ‘ME AND JULIO DOWN BY THE SCHOOLYARD’

December 17, 2018

Although the song originally appeared on Paul Simon’s eponymous 1972 album, the video for ‘Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard’ wasn’t actually made until 1988.

Shot in Mathews-Palmer Park in the Hell’s Kitchen district of Manhattan in place of Halsey Junior High School in Forest Hills, Queens, where Paul Simon first met Art Garfunkel, the video features an introduction by rappers Big Daddy Kane and Biz Markie.

And wherever and whenever it’s played, this classic song never fails to hit its mark.
