VIDEO OF THE WEEK: PHILIP BAILEY & PHIL COLLINS – ‘EASY LOVER’

March 16, 2020

Getting meta way before getting meta was a thing, the video for ‘Easy Lover’ is a tongue-in-cheek look at the making of a music video, which is used as a music video.

Indeed, such was the impact of this promo that it helped propel the song to the all-important No. 1 position in the UK, as well as Canada, the Netherlands and Ireland.

On top of that, ‘Easy Lover’ won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Overall Performance In A Video in 1985, and it was also Grammy Award-nominated for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals in 1986.
