VIDEO OF THE WEEK: The Clash – ‘Clampdown’

November 5, 2018

Today of all days we need something explosive, so let’s do it in style with the righteous fury of The Clash.

Shot at the Lewisham Odeon in February 1980 as part of their ’16 Tons’ tour in support of the seminal ‘London Calling’ album, this searing footage captures all that was best about this legendary band.

Passion, volume and a dedication to the cause rarely seen before or since. In fact, such is its potency that it’s been covered in concert by the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Manic Street Preachers and Bruce Springsteen.
