And if you’re going to mambo then it’d best be to Tito Puente, the man widely regarded as The King Of Latin Music.
‘Oye Como Va’ is arguably his most famous tune, propelled in part thanks to Santana’s idiosyncratic version on 1970s ‘Abraxas’ album. But it’s to the source we return, albeit in an updated format.
Loosely translated the title means, ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ and the only response is to get up, hit the dance floor and let those Latin rhythms soundtrack your summer – because it’s going good.
