VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Cheap Trick – ‘I Want You To Want Me’

May 19, 2017

As with AC/DC’s ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ or Peter Frampton’s ‘Show Me The Way’, there are those rare instances when the live version of a song takes on a life of its own and transcends the original.

Such is the case with Cheap Trick’s evergreen nugget of joy that is ‘I Want You To Want Me’.

Though success had initially eluded Cheap Trick in their native America, their popularity in Japan paved the way for domestic triumph.

Their ‘Live At The Budokan’ album was intended solely for the Japanese market but such was the demand for the album in the US that they finally broke through at home.

And the rest is history…
