It’s only right and proper that we pause to celebrate the life of David Bowie on the week of what would’ve been his 71st birthday.
There are so many of his songs to choose from but ‘Life On Mars’ is the one that consistently tops polls all over the world. It’s easy to see why.
Initially written as a riposte to ‘My Way’, the song combines a beautiful and timeless melody with lyrics that mesh surreal imagery with deep and personal meaning.
With a video directed by the celebrated photographer Mick Rock, this is the quintessential Bowie track. And we still miss him.
