Though the monumental concept album, ‘Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds’ has been re-imagined for a new generation of music fans, the original 1978 telling of H.G. Wells’ classic sci-fi tale is the one that resonates the most.
And with the evenings now firmly drawing in and summer but a distant memory, it’s an entirely apposite time to re-acquaint ourselves with one of the album’s many highlights, ‘Forever Autumn’.
Moody Blues frontman Justin Hayward took this evergreen track to Number Five in the UK and, despite the numerous cover versions, has yet to be bettered.
