VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Ned’s Atomic Dustbin – ‘Grey Cell Green’

March 24, 2017

Seal of approvals rarely come higher than a nod and a snigger from Bevis and Butthead but that’s exactly what Ned’s Atomic Dustbin got from the cartoon morons.

There are all sorts of things that make the band so memorable – two bass guitarists, the big shorts, the endless designs for band t-shirts – but the main thing is the fact that this quintet from Stourbridge cracked the US at the height of grunge.

The video for ‘Grey Cell Green’ found itself on rotation on MTV and the band’s thirst for touring ensured that they achieved a trans-Atlantic success that eludes so many Brits.

And, as evidenced here, having great material helps too…
