As Paul Simon gears up to say goodbye at Hyde Park this summer, it’s worth considering his monumental journey.
Since his first UK appearance at the Railway Inn Folk Club in Brentwood, Essex, in 1964, Simon has become one of the few artists who can lay a genuine claim on helping to alter the course of post-war music.
This historic final concert will undoubtedly prove to be a bittersweet experience. But, as evidenced by this clip from his last appearance at Hyde Park in 2013, it’s going to be a gem-packed farewell.
