VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Screaming Trees – ‘All I Know’
August 25, 2017
Emerging from the Pacific north-west alongside bands such as Mudhoney, Melvins and of course Nirvana, Screaming Trees may not have grabbed as many headlines, but they did nonetheless make an indelible impression on the alt.rock scene of the 90s.
Blending blues and psychedelia with heavy metal and punk, Screaming Trees created a sound that was a remove away from what you might expect and in doing so created an identity that was entirely their own.
Fronted by the nicotine-stained baritone of frontman Mark Lanegan, ‘All I Know’ became a radio hit in the US while the parent album, ‘Dust’, was not only the band’s last LP, it was also NME’s Number Six Album Of The Year while sitting atop of Kerrang’s end of year round up.
