March’s Artist Spotlight is none other than the fabulous Sade! Here are a few of our favourite Sade songs and a couple of things you may not know about them:
Smooth Operator
– “Smooth Operator” was the breakout hit in America for Sade.
– This was a #1 Adult Contemporary hit for Sade, who topped that chart again with “The Sweetest Taboo”
No Ordinary Love
– This was featured in the movie Indecent Proposal, starring Robert Redford and Demi Moore.
– The track charted 14th in the UK and 28 in the US
By Your Side
– Sade was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for this song.
– British four-piece The 1975 covered the song in 2017. Their version was part of a charity effort supporting the UK organisation War Child.
