Our October Artist Spotlight feature is your favourite Irish trio… The Script!
With a musical career spanning 14 years, The Script have a discography filled with powerhouse anthems and heartbreak ballads and they are our October artist of the month. Here’s a couple of things you may or may not already know about The Script:
– Since the start of their career, The Script have spent a total of 120 weeks in the Top 40 on the Official UK Singles Chart. In 2008, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” was the band’s first UK Top 10 Single.
– Danny O’Donoghue on the success of “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”: “The song just took off and it really changed our lives. It’s put clothes on our backs and put a roof over our heads so to me that’s the real power and magic of music.”
– The band have sold over 12 million albums to date and “Hall of Fame” is The Script’s best-selling single in the UK.
– Did you know that The Script found inspiration for their band name whilst living in LA… They recall that everyone was always talking about film scripts, so Danny and Mark would often joke and say, ‘What’s the script?’ instead of, ‘What’s up?’
– Here’s a little fun fact you may not already know… In 2018 The Script broke the Guinness World Record for buying the biggest round of drinks in history for 8k fans!
