Bob Dylan has become the first musician in history to win the Nobel Prize For Literature.
The Academy described how Dylan “created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
Permanent secretary and literature professor Sara Danius recommended ‘Blonde On Blonde’ in particular for its “many examples of his brilliant way of rhyming and putting together refrains and his pictorial thinking.”
Another Sony Legacy artist, Bruce Springsteen, described Dylan’s influence in his recently published autobiography, ‘Born To Run’.
“Bob Dylan is the father of my country. Highway 61 Revisited and Bringing It All Back Home were not only great records, but they were the first time I can remember being exposed to a truthful vision of the place I lived.”
