Five Years of Miley Cyrus – SHE IS COMING

June 5, 2024

We’re celebrating five years of SHE IS COMING

Released at the end of May 2019, SHE IS COMING was Miley Cyrus’ first EP since Time of Our Lives in 2009, and debuted at number five on US charts.

Miley first used the phrase SHE IS COMING on social media in anticipation of her appearance at that month’s Met Gala.

Her first single was Mother’s Daughter. The video features a cameo from Miley’s mother, Tish Cyrus, as a nod to the belief she had in her daughter.

The EP was originally planned as part of a trilogy with follow ups SHE IS HERE and SHE IS EVERYTHING set to combine under the title SHE IS: Miley Cyrus, but Miley changed her mind.

She explained to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, “I never let an idea or schedule determine my creative choices. Even though I love the songs for what they were, they lost their relevance so to me I can’t ever release that.”

Across the EP she collaborated with featured artists like Ghostface Killah on bassy banger D.R.E.A.M. and RuPaul on the scintillating track Cattitude.

She also rekindled her partnership with Mark Ronson on The Most, fresh from working together on his hit Nothing Breaks Like A Heart.

Full of attitude and mixing diverse references and collaborators from across genres, SHE IS COMING signalled another step forward in Miley’s acclaimed and attention-grabbing career.
