The Carole King Songbook
August 11, 2016
The songwriting talents of Carole King are celebrated on the new release through Legacy, the Carole King Songbook.
Her solo work is cherished across the world, but before her iconic album, Tapestry, she was working in the Brill Building in NYC, an architect of the pristine pop that preceded the Beatles boom.
Her early partnership with Gerry Goffin would produce “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”, “Take Good Care of My Baby”, “The Loco-Motion”, “Up On the Roof”, “One Fine Day”, “Pleasant Valley Sunday”, “(You Make Me Feel) Like a Natural Woman”.
She’s written dozens of beloved UK chart hits, and this beautiful compilation recognises her unique influence on popular music.
This release includes rare photos of Carole from her golden song writing era and a special excerpt from her autobiography explaining the thinking behind the legendary track, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and her iconic album, Tapestry. You can get your copy of the album here.
